It's been a while!

It's been a while since my last post, and I am not entirely sure I will be posting regularly again. Life sometimes gets in the way of the things you want to do. The reason I haven't been posting any content is that I really haven't been watching movies like I once was.

If I am able to post content like I want I will be posting weekly on new movies I've been watching. I would like to get a bit of a community started here and see where that leads too. I have even considered starting a podcast. I know, I know... One step at a time.

See you soon... hopfully

Half Man, Half Ant, All Terror!

This week's review is of the movie Matinee (1993) with John Goodman, Matinee is a movie that I haven't seen in years, until recently and I think I like it more now than I did when it first came out. I guess I couldn't appreciate it as much when I was younger.

This movie is a throwback to the big-bug horror films from the 50's. John Goodman plays Lawrence Woolsey, a small time movie producer bringing his latest feature Mant to Key West during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I am guessing his character is meant to be a homage to William Castle, who was known for his gimmicks and theatrics to draw in an audience.

We're the 3 best friends that anyone could have.

That's right this week's movie review is of the movie "The Hangover 2" starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, & Zach Galifianakis. Now I will have to be honest I had to look up how to spell Zach's last name, which I figure happens quite often.

The Hangover II is pretty much uses the same formula as the first film, and to be honest I guess that is why this time around there just isn't as many laughs. Don't get me wrong I loved the first film and have seen it a ton of times, it just seems that the freshness of the first film didn't carry over to the sequel.

Up in the Air

First of all I need to apologize for not posting last week. I decided to take a week off, which I now regret. I will be sure to try and post a new review every week, If I can. So let’s get started with this week’s review, which is a day late.

This week’s review is of a movie that I have to say I really enjoyed. Up in the Air (2009) with George Clooney. It seems that Clooney typically plays the same type of character in all of his movies, the slick quick witted corporate tough-guy that looks great in a suit and knows it. Don’t get me wrong I am definitely a fan of Clooney, it’s is just something I have noticed.

Be afraid, Be very afraid!

This week's review is of a classic film from the eighties that was a remake of a film from the fifties. The Fly is a movie about a scientist who starts to transform into a fly after his teleportation experiment goes horribly wrong. This basic plot is all that was used from the original 1958 film.
